  • This arrangement of Dietrich Buxtehude's Fugue in C Major is commonly referred to as the "Jig Fugue" because of the lilting 12/8 time signature. This work is thought to be the inspiration for J.S. Bach's Fugue in G major (Fugue a la Gigue), composed a few years afterwards. Scored for Piccolo, 2 C Flutes and Alto Flute (or 3rd C Flute/Bass Flute).
  • Re: bwv "jig" fugue I tackled the Jig a couple of years ago. It was NO walk in the park for me. It took months for me to really get it up to speed but it's one of my favorite Bach pieces. I think it's a lot of fun to play and everyone seem to really enjoy hearing it.
